This Native American Heritage Month, we’re shining the spotlight on several amazing members of the Albertsons Companies team. Meet Treva Upshaw, GM at Safeway in Peoria, AZ. Treva is Navajo–her clan is Black Sheep on her father’s side and Bitterwater on her mother’s side. Not only does Treva make the best Navajo fry bread for her team, she also teaches them Navajo words and practices spiritual healing. Who inspires Treva? “My mom and grandmother were very inspirational to me. Family means everything. Native American culture is very family-oriented. We all take care of each other. I am a single mother of 3 boys and 5 grandchildren. I am so proud of them!" Treva, thank you for sharing more about your culture and family. We’re grateful you’re part of our team!

Teamwork makes it happen. Shoutout to Albertsons Companies associates in our Portland Division for building a RECORD-BREAKING 1,100 emergency food boxes in just two hours for Sunshine Division families and individuals in need! The Sunshine Division offers free food and clothing assistance for qualifying Portlanders at their on-site food pantry and clothing room and through food box programs and a no-cost food bank. Safeway team #2667 in Cheyenne, WY recently presented Special Olympics Wyoming with a $50,000 donation in honor of the store's re-grand opening event.
