Congratulations to Ralph Nemo on his promotion to Regional Manager of the Roanoke region. A veteran of the contract security industry for nearly 20 years and a member of the Sunstates team since 2009, Ralph has worked in numerous positions, including Armed Officer, Account Manager, Training/Safety Coordinator, and Operations Manager. In his current position as Regional Manager, he oversees a portfolio of clients throughout Virginia and Maryland. In addition to assuming responsibility for all aspects of employee hiring, training, and mentoring, he stays in continuous contact with his clients to ensure open lines of communication, customer satisfaction, and contractual compliance. Ralph is a Certified Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid Instructor as well as a Virginia DCJS Compliance Agent. Earlier this month, the Atlanta area was rattled by an active shooter at a medical facility. Due to the proximity of the shooting to an educational campus we provide security services; the safety manager called for the college to be locked down while the events unfolded. The leadership team at the campus did an amazing job in locking down the campus while securing the safety of the facility, the student body and acting as extended observation for the multiple responding law enforcement agencies. By quickly utilizing the active shooter training and with an intimate knowledge of the client’s safety protocols, the team was able to direct their officers and the campus was locked down within minutes to prevent the shooter from entering the campus facilities. Account Manager Jaquintez Rucker, Assistant Account Manager Valencia Tillman and Shift Supervisor Denice Small performed in an exceptional manner.
