Congratulations to Roy Davis on his new role as the Savannah Regional Manager. A retired US Army veteran, Roy joined the Sunstates Security team as an armed officer in 2018. He was promoted to roles of escalating responsibility to include Account Manager and Operations Manager prior to assuming his current position as Savannah Regional Manager. His strong strategic planning, analytical, and organizational leadership skills are critical to providing management support to the Savannah regional team and its clientele. In addition to supervising a team of managers and officers and overseeing all aspects of security operations, he also formulates goals and objectives and monitors security policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal regulations. Officer Jaylen Tyler of the Dallas region has been recognized multiple times as Officer of the Month and Officer of the Quarter at his site. As a result, he was invited to have lunch with the management team at the regional office to show their appreciation and offer mentorship. Jaylen has been one of the region's most consistent, reliable officers. He helps train new officers, and his site leadership team relies on him heavily. Supervisor Cathy Wilson was recognized for noticing a subcontractor dumping mineral spirits and paint into a drain. She notified the client, and they were able to stop the subcontractor and prevent a costly and damaging environmental issue. Supervisor LT. Randy Kale constructed a map of the client’s buildings and parking lots in the area we protect. He made this map originally for our officers so they could navigate the maze of parking areas and buildings we patrol. Randy stated, "I wanted our officers to have the answers when asked for directions." The client recently saw a copy of the map, and when he noticed the color-coded system Randy developed, it impressed him so much that the client bought it to the attention of the manager's office. The map has now been blown up and laminated with copies supplied to all employees as well as it is placed at building entrances replacing old, outdated black and white maps. The various department heads like this map so much that it has now become part of the hiring packet given out to all new employees who attend orientation. Our client commented that this type of out-of-the-box thinking is one of the things that separates Sunstates from others. Jessica joined the Sunstates Security team in December 2022, bringing years of experience in an operations leadership role. She has a long history of developing and implementing creative solutions designed to enhance service, reduce risk and increase profitability. Recently, the Nashville, TN region held its Q1 Leadership Conference of 2023, which brought leaders in from not only Nashville but Memphis, Arkansans, and Mississippi. Site Supervisor Austin Schult of Denver was recognized for his vigilance at the client’s site. While he was conducting an exterior patrol, he discovered the back door open to a customer trailer with the product exposed. Site Supervisor Schult quickly reached out to the client lead clerk to report the open trailer, and after further investigation, it was found that the seal had been cut and tossed inside the trailer. Luckily none of the product was missing, and the trailer was secured and resealed. Because of Site Supervisor Schult’s training on what to identify when on patrol, he prevented theft and loss of property, which could have been costly to our client. Austin has been with Sunstates Security for two years; he continues to go above and beyond for not only our Sunstates team of officers but also for our clients. Meet Cierra Cox, Operations Manager in the DC region. Cierra joined the Sunstates Security team in December 2022. She is a dedicated professional with over 18 years of leadership experience and a vast knowledge of security personnel procedures. Positions Cierra held prior to her new role included Field Operation Supervisor and Area Supervisor for two different contract security companies spanning over twelve years. Duties she was responsible for were creating post orders, resolving emergency situations, payroll, conducting training and employee orientations, and implementing disciplinary actions. Cierra successfully managed over 72 contracts and 180+ individuals. Cierra holds several certifications, including DHS Armed Handgun training, Weapons Defensive Tactics, CPR/First Aid/AED, and Active Shooter. Additionally, she received her associate of arts degree in Business Law & Communication from Strayer University.
