We are honored to be included among Fast Company's “Brands That Matter,” an annual list of companies that build a connection “by being culturally relevant, making an impact, and communicating their mission and values clearly.” Our purpose is our passion and we are thrilled to be recognized for our investment in empowering women and, through the work of the Tory Burch Foundation, our commitment to moving the needle for women entrepreneurs. Thank you, Fast Company, and congratulations to the other honorees creating impact for their communities!
A big thank you to our friends and followers who put us in the top ranks for social engagement during New York Fashion Week with 1.4 million click-based actions including likes, reactions, shares and comments, according to ListenFirst, the social analytics firm. As WWD noted, “The brand’s Instagram and TikTok strategy led to engagement levels that far outpaced the prior season, driving a 101 percent increase in performance from a season ago.” On each of these channels, we had the highest engagement of any fashion brand, a testament to the incredible talent of Madelaine Petsch, Madeline Argy, Liv Perez, Alix Earle, Monet McMichael, Reece Feldman and, of course, our amazing team.
Congratulations to Tory – the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) nomination is an incredible honor and the perfect coda to an unforgettable New York Fashion Week!
Our Spring/Summer 2024 runway show was an unforgettable moment from the collection to the otherworldly setting, The Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation in the American Museum of Natural History. “In a chaotic world, we thought about what ‘effortless’ means now. Clothing that frees up space in your mind,” noted Tory in her collection notes. “This collection is designed to be lived in, to move with you, and to instill a sense of lightness and optimism.”
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” This quote from Eleanor Roosevelt seems like a particularly fitting sentiment as the summer internship season winds down. Last week, we bid farewell to 45 extraordinary women and men who were part of #TeamTory over the past 10 weeks through our partnership with the Parsons School of Design - The New School, RAISEfashion, our Retail stores and a host of other channels. To all of our interns, we hope your time with us will be a bridge between your dreams and what will surely be your bright future. Thank you for your hard work, your dedication and the innumerable contributions you made over the last 10 weeks. Keep dreaming and keep believing.
Great style transcends age. We recently hosted an incredible group of Gen Z students — high-school seniors and juniors taking a pre-college summer intensive on Fashion Styling at Parsons Academy. The group spent a morning at our Mercer Street flagship, learning about our brand and the collection. The visit, part of our continuing partnership with Parsons School of Design - The New School, was designed to illuminate. “The purpose of this experience as a whole is to punctuate the need for thorough research. To further understand what it is to know a brand's identity, as well as have a sound understanding of the consumer that they are seeking,” explained stylist and instructor Pamela Shepard. After a tour of the store, the students settled in on the ready-to-wear floor to complete their assignment: create two unique looks with a distinctively Gen Z vibe. One student paired a swimsuit with a ruched mini skirt for a night out while another styled a t-shirt and tennis skirt with a mini top-handle Bon Bon Bag in lavender for day. As one noted, “In these two outfits, I tell the story of a Gen Z girl combining both work and fun, which is something our generation has excelled at." Gold stars all around.
This week we were thrilled to welcome a diverse group of 45 talented women and men to our Summer internship program. The program kicked off with a surprise visit from Tory Burch and Pierre-Yves Roussel who dropped by orientation on the group’s first day. “It was so exciting,” said Alexis Masengill, a Merchandising intern and a rising senior at the University of Tennessee. “As someone aspiring to have a career in fashion, being in the same room as two industry icons was crazy.” And that was just Day 1. Over the next 10 weeks, the group will gain hands-on experience working across 20 different departments, from Design and Merchandising to Digital Commerce and our US Supply Chain. They’ll also have the chance to learn and bond through resume-building workshops, a speaker series with members of our executive team and a volunteer opportunity with Good+Foundation, an organization that provides critical goods to young families in need.
Congratulations to the 2023 Tory Burch Foundation Fellows! Each year we select 50 women entrepreneurs to join our year-long education program to grow their businesses. From 45+ cities and a wide range of industries, we are proud to celebrate our most diverse class of Fellows yet. Join us in welcoming them to our community.
Thank you The Impression and Lizzy Bowring for featuring us in “The Top 5 Luxury Fashion Brands Set to Skyrocket”! We appreciate the recognition for our products and for our overarching purpose of empowering women: “Known for accessibility, quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail, the brand offers iconic American sportswear that appeals to many customers. In addition, the brand’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility also attracts consumers who prioritize ethical fashion.”
The Met Gala is the fashion industry’s biggest night of the year. A fundraising benefit for the The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the event draws A-list celebrities and creatives as well as industry leaders. This year Emily Ratajkowski, Liu Wen and Phoebe Bridgers attended the gala in custom looks by Tory Burch. The event celebrated “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” a new exhibition of the designer’s prolific body of work at the Met. Tory wore a vintage Chanel dress from Lagerfeld’s Spring 1995 couture collection.
