HealthCare Chaplaincy Network (HCCN) recently awarded WellStar Cobb Hospital with its Excellence in Spiritual Care Award. It is the first institution in Georgia to receive this award. “The Pastoral Care Department is honored to receive this award that demonstrates, as clinically trained Chaplains, we are an intricate part of the interdisciplinary team caring for our patients and families – body, mind and spirit,” said Rev. Raymond Coffman, Spiritual Care manager. The standards of excellence include: employing an interdisciplinary approach to spiritual care; engaging in quality improvement projects; and the strategic deployment of chaplaincy care resources.
