Target typically has pretty good job training, but it could use some more resources, metrics, organization, ect. It needs some innovation. Fortunately, they are really cool about feedback in this area where I work and are welcoming with how to improve the process.

Pos: My first trainer was great and very helpful but unfortunately, I only used that training occasionally.
Neg: They gave me 5 days spread out between 2 weeks for training and only trained me for one day in my department. 3 days were dedicated to training in another department which I only worked in once, and the remaining day was dedicated to learning about how to use the registers. That being said, I had an extreme learning curve and learned at a slower pace since I had to learn everything by myself, which affected my job performance.

training is done by other sales floor employees, since they switch through employees so often, I was trained by someone who was there only a few weeks before me

There is none. there is plenty of soft skills training but no job skill training.

Training sounds like a lot of weeks but it's not. It's kind of sink or swim depending on your location
