I applied online. I received a call from the hiring manager within a day or two. She was prompt and we had a great 30-minute conversation. This is for the IRB research assistant position. I think the hiring manager sabotaged the interview process by constantly remarking how boring the job was. I was quite excited about the company and this was certainly an entry level role but by no means did I personally think it was boring so that was off-putting. She invited me for an in-person. The scheduling for the on-site interview was good and HR seemed to know their stuff. 7 individuals, 30 minutes each. I was given the names of everyone I would be speaking with. Parking was hectic and I actually had to move my car during the tiny breaks between people. They were really good about it but to be honest about half of the 7 people who interviewed me were at least 5 minutes late so that's probably why I could afford to take a minute or two to move the car. I thought the team was disorganized and they kept asking the same questions. I had one last minute step-in interviewer (not on this team) just badgered me for 30 minutes so that was fun. The position is entry level and largely administrative so I'm not sure why the panel was trying to play mind games. I think in this case they have behavioural interviewing all wrong but that's just my opinion. Positives on the interview included meeting the other RA who was awesome and the hiring manager was nice. It was really off-putting for her to tell me again, in-person, how boring this job was. They also seemed very opposed to growth within the company when asked about career development from this entry-level position. The process overall was quite brutal because of the poorly organized team, not HR. HR is awesome here. It left a bad impression on me and I don't think I would be interested in applying to any position at this company in the future.
