Applied online, had an initial screening with a recruiter who informed me they did a live tech screening followed by an 8 hour, unpaid, virtual onsite. The recruiter was very friendly and sent me a ton a preparatory material for the tech interview with guidelines about what to expect and how to approach the exercise. Fast forward to the actual technical interview and the interviewer said he wasn't going to be following the plan the recruiter laid out at all, he was going to do it his way, which was a very Leet Code, rapid fire approach. I have ADHD and ASD, so after the initial, very unwelcome surprise format change, I tried to regroup but the interviewer never really gave me the chance. He spoke very quickly, but wasn't using a microphone so instructions were difficult to understand, and he sounded impatient when I asked him to repeat himself. While actually doing the exercise, if at any time I tried to talk through the problem he became impatient and started writing the code himself. Generally speaking, he was brusque, swore, and behaved so unprofessionally that I was a little relieved when he cut the interview short and told me I'd failed. Overall it was a really poor showing for the company and really disappointing considering how friendly and approachable the recruiting team was.
