Not only was the delivery of her quick, astute summary of my resume unexpected, so was the suddenly subjective turn in questioning, and thus the inherent risk therein of an explanatory, comprehensive answer...

Why Nordstrom? Describe a time when you met or exceeded expectations. How have you calmed an angry customer and what was the outcome? How would you go about selling a particular style of shoe? How would you close the sale?

I was given a situational question of what would I do if I told an account that there was a promotion available that would allow me and the customer to both reach our quarterly quotas. But I checked into it later and realized the promotion no longer existed.
