Pros

• Opportunities to lead and manage multiple locations, which keeps the work challenging, dynamic, and interesting. • Strong support network from district leaders and corporate teams. They provide clear training and resources to help meet goals. • If you like helping people, this job is rewarding—clients truly appreciate getting their taxes right. • Flexible work-life balance. Any downtime is a nice perk considering the busy months. • Decent pay for the season, and bonuses are achievable if you meet targets.

Cons

• The job is heavily seasonal. Once tax season ends, there's little to no work, so it can feel unstable. • Long hours during peak season (January-April), often working nights and weekends, which can be tough if you have family commitments. • High-pressure environment to hit targets. Some locations struggle with staffing issues, making it even more challenging. • Limited opportunities for career growth beyond the seasonal role unless you relocate or take on a hard to get corporate role. • Sometimes feels like upper management is out of touch with the reality on the ground. They push aggressive goals without fully considering individual store circumstances.

Pros

- the job is not very hard - lots of downtime during the beginning of tax season - close relationships with coworkers

Cons

- barely receive any training - clients are usually angry - feels like you're scamming customers with how high prices are - upper management does not care

Pros

The pay and most of the people I worked with were good folks.

Cons

Toxic micromanaging work environment. The older tax pros warned me that upper management has a habit of running seasonal managers off and burning them out. I was optimistic at first but then that quickly became my reality. Everyone is either a you know what kisser or a micromanager. A lot of back biting and total wreck of the use of chain of command. If you take this position you are a glorified mascot and snitch. And if you don't play their game they will sabotage. Thee worst work experience of my life and that's saying a lot!!

Pros

There's a lot of downtime. The manager didn't force me to do any cleaning.

Cons

A lot. Here's a list 1. TERRIBLE PAY. As in worse than the local taco bell pay. Starting pay is 10 a hour, no time off, and negligible benefits. 2. Unpredictable hours. Some days you work like 12 hours and others its only 2 hours and your gone. 3. Upper management is extremely immoral and disconnected from reality. Upper management constantly screws over older employees out of their commission, pays interns unlivable wages, and expects managers to work 60+ hours on a salary that a Mcdonalds shift manager would scoff at. Overall, I'm surprised anybody works at that awful company.

Pros

Team dynamics are solid - collaboration is real, not just buzzwords. Leads and upper management walk the talk when it comes to support - You’re not left alone when things get rough. You're given actual room to think, design, and challenge inefficient workflows - no micromanagement theater. Off-season offers breathing space, with predictability that allows for planning and recovery. HR and leadership genuinely put effort into employee wellbeing. It’s not a checkbox - they show up. CSR isn’t just a line in a report—real initiatives with community impact are taken seriously.

Cons

Nothing major cons as of now.
