Pros

Really easy work Three day weekends are okay to have

Cons

Literally everything else. No overtime, no benefits. Racism, antisemitism and transphobia run rampant through management. I knew people who were blatantly misgendered the whole year I was there. Even at $14/hr I made more than my direct supervisors and I was asked explicitly by middle management AND by my temp company not to speak of it in the stores, which has got to be the shadiest thing I’ve ever heard. Or not. Because this place sucked. I once watched a supervisor bait a CUSTOMER into a race based debate over the change in the Uncle Ben Rice packaging. Middle management allows supervisors to verbally abuse temp workers and SAS employees alike with zero consequences. Even when they threw things. The long drives were atrocious in the winter. Speaking of winter, why was that when we were forced to reset the ice cream? We had no feasible place to warm ourselves. No regard given to the physical well-being of employees. Middle management gets off on guilt trips. My manager once read my supervisor the riot act because she had the nerve to be in the hospital when she was supposed to be working. I could have been making more money if they had let me work in the area 5 minutes from me, but they loved that they could take advantage of people for less money. I would have reported any of these problems if management had a track record of doing literally anything. Management loved to find every loophole possible to make you work after Covid exposure. Only take this job if you are well and truly up a creek, which I was during the pandemic.

Pros

None...plain and simple, there are no pros to working for this company.

Cons

I was brought on from TNG when SAS bought the company. They offered to keep me at my same pay rate and hours yet somehow my paychecks were averaging about $100-$200 less. It took over two months I was finally able to login and actually view my pay statements. By this time I've lost over $1000 in my pay. I found the error (my pay for drive time was half what it should have been) and file a complaint to get the back pay. They tell me they will open an investigation. Three months later I have moved on to a much better job, I never received the back pay owed to me, and the individual I had been in communication with ignores all emails regarding the issue.

Pros

cannot be fired for doing drugs at work

Cons

SAS Retail pays very low wages without raises and management does not care about out you. In this corona virus situation, there is no hazard pay, no protective equipment or paid time off for quarantine provided. The company only cares about themselves. This is only a part-time day job (8a-3:30p for 4 days), but they have instituted a mandatory shift change by 12 hours to 8p-3:30a and now require 5 days without any differential pay or benefits. They are quick to shower you with 'we appreciate you' praises, but you know it's BS because you can't pay bills with shallow, fake praises. If you refuse to upend you life for them and work the night shift, you will be denied unemployment. They are holding the employees hostage. They will send you wherever they feel like with very short or no warning so you can plan ahead. They say they will not hold it against you if you don't want to do it or work Fridays, but the absolutely do. IF they pay you travel / miles, it is an insultingly low amount.
