In the spotlight this month is a husband-wife duo, Product Data Manager, Sam Edwards, & Buyer, Michelle "Sue" Edwards! 👏🏼 Michelle has been with CCA Global Partners for 15 years, while Sam returned to the CCA team just two years ago. Sam says, "It's rare that high praise for a company can live up to the hype but alas; CCA surpassed it." The Edwards share their favorite part about working at CCA. Michelle says it's "...the amazing mentors I have had who helped me grow both professionally & personally." Sam adds that "It's quite incredible to work with teams that go out of their way to help one another add value, not only to everyone they encounter but at the end of the day, that value gets added to our members!" The pair also offer advice to new colleagues who join our teams. "You can never go wrong with learning more than the day before & being the first person to offer a helping hand," Sam insists, while Michelle reiterates the importance of communication. "Communicate, communicate, communicate. Everyone learns differently & being able to explain how you best learn is critical.
In the spotlight this month is Digital Merchandising Specialist for our retail flooring divisions, Maggie Ostapowicz! Maggie joined CCA Global Partners in October of 2021 & tells us what initially drew her in, explaining, "My background is in apparel merchandising, but I was looking for a change & discovered that one of CCA's primary ventures was in the flooring industry. I have always had a love for interior design & was also drawn to the co-op structure of the company." Maggie's favorite aspect of her role is "coordinating & creating digital assets for our websites. It is so exciting to launch new products online & see engagement in corresponding digital programs, like our sample box. I also enjoy collaborating with our Digital Marketing & UX teams on new digital features to enhance a customer's shopping experience." Most people would never guess that Maggie also physically touches every carpet sample to determine if the product gets a "soft" attribute icon on the website!
This month, CCA Global Partners is recognizing one of our creative thought-leaders, SVP of Visual Merchandising & Brand Management, Theresa Fisher. Theresa has been with CCA for 22 years & initially joined the organization determined to grow family businesses and strengthen local communities through her experience with household brands. "I wanted to see & feel the value of my contribution to a greater good.," Theresa says. Today, Theresa loves being closely connected to our family-owned member stores & the unique and valuable stories they have to tell. "CCA is truly a member-focused organization that celebrates & promotes entrepreneurship. With that, we have the space to explore novel ideas and approaches to set our retailers apart from the industry. I love having the space to ideate & the urgency to execute." Theresa shares a valuable lesson she's learned in her time at CCA, advising others that, "Times change. Things change. Keep an open mind and look for the opportunities presented by new situations."
CCA Global Partners is shouting out another enthusiastic employee, Nancy Hill! Nancy has been with CCA since 2010 but working as Manager, Networking Groups is a new role for her this year. In her new role, she is the main point of contact for the Regional Networking Groups within our retail divisions, including Carpet One Floor & Home and Flooring America. Nancy is passionate about training, saying, "I am a trainer at heart & hearing that I have helped an individual either professionally or personally from some best practice, skill, or personal growth knowledge is why I do what I do." She embraces feedback through one of her commonly used quotes, “I can’t change what I don’t know,” & encourages new employees to "Breathe in the culture of CCA, it is different from any other company. It attracts great talent & your experiences here will assist you in your professional growth." Thank you for your hard work, Nancy!
CCA Global Partners is featuring one of our dedicated employees, Bill Gauthier, Sr. Director of Consulting & Training. In his role, Bill spends time partnering with our business owners on financials and succession plans while coaching their teams. He's been with CCA since 2000 & has enjoyed every year. When describing what initially drew him into CCA, Bill states, "I was an intern at CCA in 1996, so I was intrigued by the potential of the Co-Op. When I had the opportunity to join the company in 2000, I was so impressed with all the people, energy, & entrepreneurial spirit." Bill goes on to say that his favorite part about working at CCA is the people. "I also take pride in the fact that we are a big company, doing big things, and we’re located in New Hampshire!" Bill shares his family's favorite motto, ‘We’re here to make good things happen for others.' In his spare time, he enjoys staying active through soccer, skiing, & riding his bike. Last month, our St. Louis, MO, office adopted a portion of Earth City Expressway through Missouri's Adopt-A-Highway program. Currently, more than 5,300 groups and 50,000 volunteers in the program are focused on making Missouri’s roadsides cleaner & more attractive for our residents and visitors. The Marketing Team spent their two days learning, brainstorming, strategizing, and working together to build on their strengths. The team is already looking forward to the next event!
This month, we're featuring an essential member of our Marketing Team, Danielle Drake-Flam, Content Marketing Specialist! Danielle has been employed at CCA Global Partners since October 2020 and works to write national content & blogs for our retail brands, along with coordinating the production of our retail design magazines. Danielle explains how her past internship experience with CCA in 2018 encouraged her to return to join full-time, saying, "I was given the opportunity to contact our members & get down to business on day one. It was the amount of responsibility that they entrusted me with and the generosity of not only my peers but our supervisors & former Co-founder, Howard Brodsky, that made me realize what a special company CCA is."
