It's that time of year again! Our rugby players (and some friends from the community) came out for the annual Microsoft Give Rugby Tournament. We played for the Northwest Sarcoma Foundation, in memory of Sig Kohl. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vMHnV
Logic20/20 employees and their families gathered at the Kingfisher Natural Area on Norton Creek to do some forest restoration work. We spent the morning clearing blackberries and other invasive species to prepare for fall planting. The forest steward spent time teaching us about the impact of the work we were doing - healthy forest lead to healthy salmon with lead to healthy orcas (among many other things). It was a morning well spent!
The FMO team got to spend the afternoon with Teams and Leaders, a group of expert leadership development facilitators at their “Challenge Course”. Their philosophy is that for real change to occur, teams need to struggle together, to achieve together, and to openly explore fundamental team dynamics. The team had so much fun, and special thanks to Courtenay and Steve for planning!
This past weekend, our SCC Committee hosted an event at Tukwila Family Fun Center & Bullwinkle's Restaurant for employees and their families. We had a BLAST! Thank you SCC for another great event!
Starting a new job can be many things: invigorating, exciting, and a little overwhelming, especially during onboarding. Policies, procedures, facts, and figures can add up quickly! No matter what information you’re given during orientation, you’re bound to have follow-up questions specific to your own situation. Employee experience (EX) is the human experience of working at a company. This includes corporate culture, the physical workspace, interactions with fellow employees, the day-in-day-out emotional experience of working, and more. Virtual messaging changes the standard for how employees interact with the content, tools, and people within their organization. Read more: http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vM0Ob

Logic20/20, CEO Christian O'Meara, shares his recent article "The best business lessons I've learned from sports". "I started my professional career in sales and moved to leadership. I relate to my time on the field every single day. So in business, what does it mean to feel supported? How does it feel to work for someone you admire? Alternatively, what does it mean to lead, to support, to foster growth? How does one define a successful leader? These are questions I ask myself nearly every day. I’ve found that in a lot of ways, a successful business operation is like a successful sports team. When I founded Logic20/20 in 2005, I brought my experience as a player and a coach into the philosophy and values that form the pillars of our company culture. The lessons below are some that have helped make Logic20/20 the thriving consultancy it is today." Read the full article here: http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vM489
Meet Chris! "I’m a Lead Developer in our Digital Transformation practice. That means I go to various client sites and lead the software developers on a team in their work for a project. I coordinate with the product owner and the business to clarify project requirements. I architect, design, and document the solutions pursued by the team, define and assign tasks, and help the developers in their work. I regularly perform code reviews and triage and fix production problems. I mentor team members, help grow their skills, and work to keep them happy during their time with Logic20/20. I maintain and update my own skills, and I do all this while completing a full load of development tasks just like any other developer on the team." http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vM44o
Logic20/20's Consulting Manager, Juliana Su, was featured in Seattle Business Magazine as a Daring Woman. "In my experience, one of the most important leadership characteristics is to be humble and check your ego. Itâs important to understand when something (people, process, tools) is not working well and be able to quickly re-plan and re-position. You should be receptive, inclusive and always listening. Another important characteristic is courage. Collaborate, but have the bravery to be decisive and lead the charge. Communicate with confidence and build trust. Encourage diversity, innovation and positive disruption to continue evolving an organization and its people." Read the full article here: http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vMeNz
