Whether you’re building a brand-new team or improving a current one, positive team culture is an essential aspect of gaining new talent and running a successful business. No one is an island; people spend their days on teams, moving between groups of all shapes and sizes. We’ve all heard about offices being like families, all ideas being important, and employees being valuable no matter what. These makes sense, since companies must employ team members that can work well together, remain ahead of the competition, and feel happy enough to stay year after year. When you look closely enough, collaboration and innovation are the two pillars of maintaining forward progress and keeping employees happy. So how can you craft a team culture around these two things? http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vMvb8
Did you make a New Year’s resolution for 2019—maybe about how often you’ll hit the gym, call your mom, or resist your sugar cravings? OK - now that we’re three months into the year, have you kept it up? According to U.S. News & World Report, 80 percent of New Year's resolutions fail by February. (If yours is still going, well done!) Organizational change is equally as hard to accomplish. It’s extraordinarily tough for companies to sustain change. What makes some successful while others fall short? For businesses, this comes down to two things: change management and its cousin, change leadership. Though it may come as a surprise, there is a difference between the two, and for long-lasting success, you need both. Read the full article for 5 elements necessary for a successful change, each of which requires an equal balance of change management and change leadership: http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vMvla
Our Managing Director Juliana Su shares her thoughts about being a woman in tech and identifies five key things companies can do to support women. "No matter where I’ve been or what role I’ve had, I’ve always been a woman working in the technology industry. Although I was often the only woman working within a team of men, I never saw it as a disadvantage. Instead, I chose to leverage how I saw a situation or event differently from my teammates and show what unique perspectives I could contribute." http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vM5Wo

This may be obvious, but the title above is open to interpretation, vague, and not very explicit into my daily events. I usually translate it to others as a “Client Relationship Manager”, which typically creates a better understanding of my job title and activities. I want to take you through a Monday in my role, one of my busiest days, which I nerdly enjoy having as the start to my week. 9:00am The party starts This is actually one of my favorite meetings for the week (don’t tell my Sales Director). The sales and marketing team gather in a room to discuss priorities for the week and are updated on any new events or company updates. Our Sales Director usually enjoys turning on the harsh, bright lights to ensure we are energized for this meeting. It is nice to be informed and hear what other people on my team are working on and how we can better support each other for the week… as well as hear about any eventful weekend stories.
