Do I still have your attention? Today’s business environment is nothing like it was 10 years ago, yet many marketing departments continue to operate as if it were still the same. Applying conventional marketing practices to an environment where consumer interests change in a flash, is creating a disconnect in the marketing world. Using a “big bang” marketing approach to tackle constantly multiplying channels as well as fluctuating and personalized messaging doesn't make sense. We’ve all encountered pivotal growth moments in our career where we’ve had multiple opportunities available. Would it be better to seek a promotion, transition to a new field, or change jobs? There is no clear roadmap for each individual’s journey. It’s even more challenging to embark on those journeys on your own, without guidance. So how do you make important decisions? These experiences have given me a breadth of insights into other outlooks and journeys. These insights, in turn, strengthen my own understanding of the world. The experience also keeps me humble. No 13-year-old athlete gives a lick who you are in the professional world.
