On June 8, Community Relations Directors from the greater Knoxville, Tennessee, area got together at Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley in Knoxville. Kelsey Pickens is Community Relations Director at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Lexington, Kentucky, Alzheimer's Center of Excellence. She represents The Lantern in the local area and is often the first point of contact for families looking for a memory care community for their loved one. She has been with Morning Pointe for a year and a half. "I was looking for a family-like atmosphere where I could develop close relationships," Kelsey said. "After researching Morning Pointe, the values aligned with what I was looking for, I knew they would help me foster my own growth both professionally and personally."
Morning Pointe of Knoxville, Tennessee, Assisted Living recently showed some love to its Nurses with some pretty neat swag! Now all their Nurses are sporting their Morning Pointe jackets with pride!
Morning Pointe Senior Living offers its associates tuition reimbursement for furthering their education in the senior living field. Fannie Elkins, a clinical staff member at Morning Pointe of Russell, Kentucky, is one of the staff members to benefit recently. She worked as a Resident Assistant at the community for 11 years and just completed her Certified Nursing Assistant class. “I was very thankful for the tuition reimbursement,” Fannie said. “It allowed me to work my schedule and be able to afford to go back to school."
Meet Kathy Tate, Licensed Practical Nurse at Morning Pointe of Tullahoma, Tennessee. She joined the senior living field at age 36 after a career as a Cosmetologist and was a natural fit. In addition, Kathy came to Morning Pointe of Tullahoma Assisted Living and Memory Care in December 2022 with further experience in doctor’s offices. She considers her current job the best one she’s ever had. “I was a born Nurse from a very young age, taking care of my granddaddy’s elderly sisters during summer garden season,” Kathy shared. “I truly love Morning Pointe – the residents and staff are great. I know God sent me here.”
Meet some of our amazing Nurses! Marie Laws, far right, is the Lead Licensed Practical Nurse at Morning Pointe of Richmond, Kentucky. She has worked for Morning Pointe for about 11 years and has been a Nurse since 1984. “My residents are why I enjoy being a nurse,” said Marie. “I love them, and I want them to have the best care and life possible.” Marie is known for going above and beyond and knows all the residents and their families.
Meet Valery "Val" Dagermandzhyan, Licensed Practical Nurse at Morning Pointe of Lenoir City, Tennessee. He has been a nurse for 12 years and has worked at the assisted living community that whole time! Val also leads staff devotions in the morning. “I love interacting with the residents and learning life experiences from them,” said Val. “I love how faithful their generation is to our God.”
Meet Cindy Lemon, Receptionist at Morning Pointe of Greenbriar Cove in Ooltewah, Tennessee. She has worked at the building since 2016 and has barely missed a day. “What makes working at Morning Pointe very enjoyable is the great residents, staff, and management at our building,” said Cindy. “I appreciate the wide variety of tasks in the job and the opportunity to interact with the various families. Meet Courtney Burton, Director of Nursing at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Lexington, Kentucky. A Licensed Practical Nurse for 6 years, Courtney first came to Morning Pointe Senior Living in April 2017 as a floor nurse. “I have always enjoyed helping others, even from a young age,” Courtney shared. She left Morning Pointe for a year but then returned. “Morning Pointe is definitely where I belong!” she said. “We are all one big family and always willing to step in when someone needs an extra hand.”
