In order to make great games, we need great teachers (and great students)! This weekend, Tom Wang, a Senior Software Engineer at Riot, led a Game Dev workshop for a group of middle school and high school teachers at 9 Dots, a non-profit dedicated to giving all students access to effective computer science education. Teachers learned about the gaming industry and created a simple video game on Unity. To help them develop lesson plans around game dev, Tom also provided an overview of several online resources and tutorials available on the web for free. Our hope is that these teachers will help students with an interest in game development get their start early and discover a whole new world of possibilities within the gaming industry!
