Leaning into it: we’re looking forward to sharing our Lean Journey to the Lean Construction Institute Ohio Valley Community of Practice on December 2nd. An LCI corporate member since 2015, our presentation will speak to the evolution of our employee culture, training investments, process development, and executive leadership commitment to provide practical steps to prepare and equip even the biggest skeptics. We will also share tangible project examples throughout that highlight SSOE’s partnership with key clients. SSOE’s Julie Dolan, one of four presenters, is a core team member of the LCI Ohio Valley Community of Practice.

We're so excited for our client Gilmore Jasion Mahler! They were named November’s "Member of the Month" by the Arrowhead Park Association, a business community where their new Toledo-area headquarters resides. SSOE provided engineering, architectural, and interior design services for the 24,000 SF addition and renovation project. GJM employees are currently preparing to move in to their new and improved space as we speak.
A rewarding trip to Europe: earlier this week, SSOE Group was honored for Leadership in Digital Innovation at the GEOBIM conference in Amsterdam. Tony Sabat, Project VDC / BIM Specialist who was a featured speaker at the conference, accepted the award that was presented to us for our skill and knowledge in using high-definition terrestrial and drone laser scanning methods to successfully deliver a complex project with a very constrained timeline without error.
Today, we salute our veterans. At SSOE, we love hiring military veterans. SSOE’s Mark LaBell recently published in New Equipment Digest. His article, “Ingenious Innovations for Scanning,” offers tips for stretching your operation’s budget by using laser scanning technology. A pioneer of reality capture at SSOE who is always looking for the next best thing in tech, Mark will be presenting at Autodesk University for the seventh time later this month—this time on the topic of ReCap, Autodesk’s reality capture and 3D scanning software for model creation.
Earlier this year, Senior Furnace Designer (and Scoutmaster) Rob Conboy, with the help of his Boy Scout troop, picked up litter along the banks of the Maumee River in Toledo as part of Clean Your Streams—an event he’s been involved with for the past 8 years. Rob and his troop contributed greatly to the 18,455 lbs. of trash that was removed in just a few hours, so much so that they earned this year’s Challenge Award. They will be honored at the Partners for Clean Streams Annual General Meeting in December. A former Boy Scout himself, Rob has been in a leadership role with the organization for more than a decade while his two sons have followed in his footsteps, making their way through the program. He has been involved with Clean Your Streams for the past 8 years. #SSOEcares
