Managers from the U.S. recently made a trip to our Mumbai office for a “Collaboration Week” finale to round out the year. From project assessments and career planning to technical training sessions, we laid the groundwork for an incredible, integrated year ahead. But it wasn't all business—our Mumbai office’s Employee Club organized fun activities to strengthen team bonds and foster relationships across departments and disciplines. After hours, our visiting team immersed themselves in Mumbai's rich culture, exploring iconic landmarks and savoring local delights. #SSOEindia #chooseSSOE
Sending out an SOS! Colleagues from our Nashville office spread holiday cheer by purchasing and wrapping gifts for A Soldier's Child earlier this month. A Soldier's Child Foundation provides support, scholarships, and special events for children of fallen soldiers. This year, the nonprofit celebrated its sixth annual “Season of Sacrifice” Christmas program, or SOS, an initiative to provide love, honor, and hope during the holiday season. #SSOEcares #SSOEsoutheast
Surrounded by Southern comforts: Our Austin, Texas crew spent their Friday in the heart of downtown Austin surrounded by friends, family, and good food. The local office celebrated the year-end with dinner, laughs, and bespoke prizes. The soirée was a fantastic conclusion to an incredible year! #SSOEaustin #chooseSSOE
A cup of cheer to celebrate our 75th year! This year marked SSOE’s 75th anniversary and we’re excited to share some holiday cheer as we wrap up a year full of celebration. We have so much to be thankful for and we’re showing our gratitude to our clients, colleagues, and communities with the gift of giving. #SSOEcelebrates75
A Dinger in December! Our Columbia team celebrated the end of the year holidays with a relaxing evening under the lights of the local ballpark. Segra Park, home of the Columbia Fireflies, transformed the diamond into a Winter Wonderland where our team enjoyed a catered meal in the Banquet Lounge overlooking the field, a dazzling light show throughout the concourse, and partook in holiday cheer with festive drinks, vendors, and desserts. #chooseSSOE #SSOEsoutheast
We're celebrating the election of new members to SSOE's Board of Directors and the appointment of three new principal owners within our firm. Board Chair Matt Oberts quoted within. #PressRelease
Level up your Lean: In this Lean Construction Blog article authored by Catherine Myers, President at SSOE, and John Pemberton, one of our outside board members, we discuss the strategy, tactics, and tools we used to develop our Lean Operating Strategy back in 2020.
Last month, we joined our friends at The University of Toledo College of Engineering for a STEM experience day. Over a hundred students in grades fifth through eighth from Toledo Public Schools' gifted and talented program were introduced to principles of geometry, physics, and engineering through fun activities like the popsicle-stick catapult, design a playground challenge, and building a bridge out of straws. We love actively engaging students at the pre-college level to expose them to STEM careers—building the workforce of tomorrow. #SSOEcares
So All May Eat! Project Accounting Coordinator Heather Fricke uses her lunch break every weekday to volunteer at the SAME Café—a nonprofit restaurant that creates community through healthy food access. It sits inside the Toledo Lucas County Main Library across the street from our world headquarters and offers a meal in exchange for donations, fresh produce, or volunteer time. After learning more about Heather’s passion for the lunch spot and its participatory model, CEO Vince DiPofi decided he would trade in his suit jacket for a hair net and join her. SSOE will also sponsor a “meal for a day” for an entire year as part of our long-held commitment to community and in honor of our 75 years in Toledo. #SSOEcares #SSOEcelebrates75
Two Ways to Expedite Schedules: At The Battery Show in September, we held several Ask an Expert sessions for attendees. In this session, featuring SSOE’s Dana Brumley and Bill Youngs, we draw upon our experience to discuss two different strategies to optimize your project schedule.
