Viva Las Autodesk! Earlier this month, a group of more than 40 technologists, engineers, and architects—along with SSOE executive leadership—attended the @Autodesk University Design & Make Conference in Vegas. We had the opportunity to connect with fellow professionals, exchange ideas, share our expertise, showcase our footprint at the forefront of cutting-edge technology, and celebrate our award-winning project for Ascend Elements. We left feeling inspired, motivated, and ready to deliver unparalleled client value that advances the AEC industry.
Site Adaptation & Code Planning Considerations: At The Battery Show in September, we held several Ask an Expert sessions for attendees. In this quick video, featuring SSOE’s Dana Brumley and David Semproch, we discuss the critical consideration of building code analysis for greenfield and brownfield facilities.
At last week's Autodesk University, our Ascend Elements project received the 2023 Design & Make AEC Best Construction Project Award. Alongside our design / build partners Turner Construction Company and Kokosing, SSOE is designing the architectural, civil, and structural elements as well as the process, mechanical, and electrical systems for Ascend Elements’ 500,000+ SF, 140-acre greenfield EV battery materials manufacturing facility in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Business Leader Matt Bierschbach, who accepted the award as project manager on the project, and Catherine Myers, President of SSOE, both quoted within. #PressRelease

Here to help: In late October, Category 5 Hurricane Otis ripped through Acapulco, Mexico devastating the area. At least 48 have died and the city’s infrastructure is still lacking. Our employees in León and Chihuahua have already put personal efforts into buying and collecting goods, clothing, and water to be sent to Acapulco to help. The International Committee of the Red Cross in Mexico is supporting the region with humanitarian aid, and SSOE has also made a corporate contribution to support these efforts. #SSOEmexico #SSOEcares
We had a great time at last week’s SC Manufacturing Conference and Expo in Greenville where we talked with manufacturers about how SSOE delivers a competitive advantage through a better process. #SSOEsoutheast
Evaluating a Site: At The Battery Show in September, we held several Ask an Expert sessions for attendees. In this 5-minute clip featuring SSOE’s Greg Brogley, Brett Susany, and Bill Youngs, we discuss key considerations for evaluating your site—from building the right team to physical site considerations such as soil conditions and grading, suitability of utilities, and permitting requirements.
Our Continental project in New Braunfels, Texas—which just earned LEED Gold certification—is a finalist for the USGBC South Central region’s 2023 Community Leadership Project Award for Texas. It’s the company's first greenfield manufacturing facility constructed for the purpose of producing electronic components for the automotive sector. Finalists represent excellence in green building and demonstrate leadership across Texas. To signify a significant achievement above an already high bar, the Community Leadership Awards recognize projects that made a substantial impact in innovation, sustainability, or community. #SSOEsouthwest
The gold standard: SSOE provided EPCM services for Continental's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in New Braunfels, Texas—and it was recently awarded LEED Gold certification (the second highest designation possible from the USGBC). Alexander Brueckner, Head of Continental's Automotive Building Solutions, and SSOE's Jennifer Breault, Architect and Chair of our Sustainable Design Strategy Group, both quoted within. #PressRelease
