Our glass engineering experts are having a great time at the 84th Annual Conference on Glass Problems in Columbus this week!
Age is merely a number, and Brandon Darroch, MS, PMP proves it. As SSOE's Battery Market Leader and Southeast U.S. Division Manager, he became the youngest principal in SSOE history in 2021. He now gets to add another accolade to his name: one of Building Design+Construction Media’s 40 Under 40! #SSOEsoutheast
Next week, we’ll be at Autodesk University in Las Vegas. We’re a silver sponsor and exhibitor this year and are excited to showcase how we leverage Autodesk solutions to deliver large, complex projects to our clients. We’re also sending 42 attendees from SSOE (including members of our executive leadership team), nine of whom have been selected to speak across four sessions. #PressRelease #AU23
Episode #2 of A Blueprint for Equity, a podcast powered by SSOE, is now available! In our latest quarterly episode and (our second to date), host Candice Harrison sits down with Dr. Melvin Gravely, CEO of TriVersity Construction and author of Dear White Friend—a must-read book about the realities of race, the power of relationships, and the path to equity. Mel and Candice discuss equity versus equality, race relations, and some of the ways his Cincinnati-based commercial construction firm has diversity built right into its brand (right down to the name and right up to the top). Listen at www.ssoe.com/podcast or wherever you get your podcasts. #BlueprintForEquity
Our Toledo office’s Employee Club packed the lunch hour with tons of spooky fun! First, we enjoyed a Toledo staple: World Famous Tony Packo's Hungarian Hot Dogs. Next came the costume contest, followed by a raffle with fun fall prizes. And everyone was a winner with pie for dessert, made with love by our "groovy" Employee Club President Ronda Friesel. #Halloween #chooseSSOE
Headquartered in the "Glass City" and a leader in the glass and manufacturing industries, our glass experience spans more than 50 years and five continents, working with glass manufacturers on quite literally every aspect of plant development. Forget horsepower, we’ve got dragon power! SSOE's Nashville team recently participated in the Cumberland River Compact’s 15th Annual Dragon Boat Race—winning 2nd place in the last race. Although we didn’t take home the gold, the event was an incredible victory that further exercised our collaboration skills at East Bank Landing in downtown Nashville. #SSOEsoutheast #chooseSSOE
We're widening our footprint in Mexico! We recently expanded our León, Guanajuato office once again with a third additional floor—a direct result of our continued focus on and investment in our Mexico operations. Over the past three years, this office has nearly tripled in size, now employing over 135 staff members. We also established operations in Chihuahua earlier this year. SSOE's Erick Kuri, Mexico Operations Director, quoted within. #SSOEmexico #PressRelease
Last night, SSOE’s Catherine Myers—our first-ever woman President—was in the Big Apple to celebrate being listed among Forbes 50 Over 50 alongside other remarkable women making strides in STEM. Recognized in the Innovation category, Cathy was commended for her leadership and efforts that ultimately led to SSOE earning the #2 ranking among manufacturing design firms by industry-leading ENR.
Our friends at The University of Toledo’s National Society of Black Engineers recently stopped by our world headquarters to deliver our Corporate Partnership Award, which we received for our support over the last year. #SSOEcares
