Exemplifying Georgia’s Excellence: 700 Georgians, including Governor Kemp, recently spent their afternoon at a ceremonial ribbon cutting to celebrate the Department of Public Safety’s new headquarters. SSOE’s architecturally driven Building Design Group designed the 100,000-SF remodel that features administration and training facilities for divisions of the Georgia State Patrol, Motor Carrier Compliance, and Public Safety Command Staff—plus a history museum and memorial wall dedicated to fallen law officers. #SSOEsoutheast
Employing the best and brightest! SSOE’s Baalaganapathy Manohar, a mechanical engineer who works in our Austin office, is the recipient of this year’s Outstanding Achievement in Energy Engineering by an Industrial Assessment Center Alumni Award. This award from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recognizes former members of the Industrial Assessment Center program who promote the practices and principles of electrical engineering. Wakeso Peterson, an architecture student from Bowling Green State University who is currently in our co-op / internship program, was recently featured in the Toledo City Paper. He put 3D modeling to the side for fashion modeling as part of the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce’s “Summer in the City” photo shoot featuring area interns (in partnership with the Franklin Park Mall). Speaking of fashion, we understand the importance of having a culture that fits—whether you’re an intern / co-op, early career professional, or a seasoned professional. Whether it’s our client’s project or a friendly game of softball, we swing for the fences! Our Portland office joined a co-ed softball league to encourage intra-office fellowship. Last week, we played our final game at the Gordon Faber Recreation Complex against the Pink Panthers. We're excited to report that the SSOE Wizards won 12-5, making us the F league champions!
