Celebrating Juneteenth! Today, our Toledo office’s Employee Club—in collaboration with SSOE’s Black Leaders and Collaborative Changemakers (BLACC) Employee Resource Group—provided us with delicious soul food catered by A Matter of Taste. The menu included fried chicken, barbecue ribs, mac and cheese, candied yams, greens, and corn casserole (with peach cobbler and lemon pound cake for dessert). In exchange, employees made contributions to Grace Community Center's EDU-CAMP: STEM Summer Learning Program and Math in the Garden totaling more than $500. Company-wide, employees had the opportunity to hear Melvin Gravely, CEO of TriVersity Construction, a black-owned construction company in Cincinnati, and author of the book Dear White Friend, talk about what we can do together about race in an interactive webinar. #Juneteenth #SSOEcares
