As part of Engineers Week, SSOE's world headquarters in Toledo will host 20 local students from Jefferson, Napoleon, and Swanton high schools on February 21st. Engineers Week serves to increase the understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers. It also helps address the shortage of talent in STEM careers by increasing public dialogue about the need for engineers and other STEM professionals. #EngineersWeek #PressRelease
We had a great time at yesterday’s Engineering Career Fair at the University of Alabama at Birmingham! Dylan, a civil engineer at SSOE’s Birmingham office and UAB alum, shared the many perks of working at our firm—including our hybrid work model, opportunities to work on exciting and diverse projects for Fortune 100 clients around the globe, access to leadership, and more. Locally, we’ve been named a Top Engineering Firm by the Birmingham Business Journal for the past several years. Our growth trajectory allows us to offer the opportunities normally associated with a large firm while embracing the collaborative and supportive culture often found in smaller firms. #SSOEsoutheast #chooseSSOE
Love is in the air this week, and our hearts are set on adding students to our Co-Op / Internship Program! With umbrellas in tow, SSOE recently joined our client and partners for the Spartanburg County Judicial Center topping out ceremony in South Carolina. What the day lacked in agreeable weather it made up for in community support. We watched as the final beam was placed on the six-story courthouse, a project funded by a penny sales tax that has already created economic momentum for the city’s downtown. SSOE teamed with McMillan Padzan Smith to design the 300,000 SF structure that will replace an outdated mid-century building. We were challenged with fitting a large building footprint onto a limited site while maintaining ongoing operations of the current courthouse. #SSOEsoutheast
