Last week, CEO Vince DiPofi traveled to our León, Guanajuato office to present his quarterly town hall in person to employees. But it wasn’t all work, he also made time for a baseball game: Bravos de León vs. Pericos de Puebla (the latter taking home the win). Every Wednesday in June, we're using our social media to spread awareness of some glaring issues that affect the LGBTQ+ community. According to the National Network for Youth, up to 40% of the 4.2 million youth experiencing homelessness identify as LGBTQ+ with family conflict being the primary cause. LGBTQ+ youth are also more likely to experience assault, trauma, depression, and suicide when compared to non-LGBTQ+ populations while also being homeless. Nonprofits like Lost-n-Found Youth, located near our Atlanta office, are working to end homelessness for all LGBTQ+ youth by providing them with the skills and support needed to live independently. Earlier this week, our Toledo office’s Employee Club celebrated the first day of summer with an ice cream truck! With the heat index reaching the upper 90s, it was exactly what we needed to cool off on a hot and sunny summer’s day (at least Ethan, one of our systems administrators, thought so!). Run by employees, for employees, SSOE Employee Clubs promote educational, social, and recreational activities to encourage intra-office fellowship.
