Throughout February, we celebrate Black History Month in the U.S. and Canada under the theme Empowering Black Voices in the Digital Age: The Power of Black Media. We recognize that authentic storytelling reflects diverse experiences and perspectives – you can't have a chorus with one voice. This resonates deeply with our purpose to inform the way forward, as we harness the transformative power of inclusion to drive innovation and create meaningful impact for our colleagues and customers. The Thomson Reuters Black Employee Network will host engaging events throughout the month, fostering learning and inspiration for our colleagues. Watch this space for our upcoming employee spotlight featuring an inspiring member of this business resource group who's making a difference.
Meet Fangyi, a former intern with TR Labs who is now a member of our Foundational Research team. Why did you decide to return to Thomson Reuters after completing your internship? "I had such a great experience during my internship that when I saw the Foundational Research team was hiring, I jumped at the opportunity. The innovative culture and flexible work environment resonated with me, so returning was an easy decision." What excites you most about your work as part of the Foundational Research team at Thomson Reuters? "Two things stand out: the cutting-edge AI work and the amazing team. We're constantly pushing boundaries, creating tools that handle complex legal tasks like reasoning, and changing the game for legal professionals. Everyone brings something unique to the team, and I'm always learning from my colleagues." How does being part of the Foundational Research team at Thomson Reuters enable you to grow as a researcher and professional? "Being on this team is like a turbo boost for my career. Working with cutting-edge technology and brilliant colleagues, I'm continuously challenged to learn and grow. As an Intern, a paper I and my teammates wrote was accepted at the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL) conference, and it's now widely cited!
