"I joined the Black Employee Network because I wanted to be a part of change at Thomson Reuters. I chose to accept the co-lead nomination for our Black Employee Network business resource group in Ann Arbor to continue advancing our collective efforts in putting our faces in higher places. Being a member of the Black Employee Network means so much to me. It allows me to embrace who I am. It allows me to connect with colleagues who I may otherwise never encounter. It’s also provided me the opportunity to connect and partner with so many genuine people from different business units and segments. Thanks to Thomson Reuters for having this business resource group, which enables us to feel seen and heard.” Brian, Marketing Development Representative, Ann Arbor Stay tuned for more Black History Month stories, and check out our latest Inside Thomson Reuters blog:

Last month, our Engineering team in Toronto welcomed a new cohort of seven interns to our Software Development team. We have designed an Intern Development Program for the 16-week internship that includes a meet-the-leader session with executives across Thomson Reuters, a learning workshop masterclass from our technology experts, and in-person connection events. It's been a busy few weeks filled with lots of learning and collaboration, and on Tuesday, everyone got together for a board game night at our Toronto office! The laughter and friendly competition were contagious as teammates played Jenga and Codenames. We are looking forward to more team connections over the coming months.
“Black History Month represents pride and resilience to me. I am proud of my ancestors’ accomplishments in the face of unimaginable indignity, along with the enormous sacrifices my parents and grandparents made so that I could not only survive but thrive in America. I am grateful for the opportunity to pass their strength and resilience on to my children. I’ve been working at Thomson Reuters for over three years as Senior Legal Editor where I’m responsible for drafting all the Private Securities Litigation resources. At the beginning of the pandemic, I joined the Black Employee Network as a way to interact with teammates while we all worked remotely. I am now the co-chair of the Black Employee Network – Virtual and Washington, DC chapters for 2023-24. I am excited about the chance to help introduce programs that I hope will have a meaningful impact for our members in creating a positive work experience and a healthy work-life balance.” Lora, Senior Legal Editor, Securities Litigation, Washington, DC
Yesterday, we held a virtual event called Mindfulness to Heal From Microaggressions with mindfulness and breathwork specialist Zee Clarke! In this session, Zee spent an hour providing us with powerful tools including meditation, breathwork, yoga, and much more in order to teach others how mindfulness and breathwork can improve their well-being despite any challenges that race or gender might present. #BlackHistoryMonth #WorkingAtTR #RiseAbove
On January 30, the Asian Affinity Network and Black Employee Network Toronto Chapters hosted their first in-person social of 2023 at our Toronto office. This was an opportunity to connect with colleagues and hear from one of our Executive Sponsors, Thomas Kim. Each business resource group shared more about its mission, 2022 highlights, and priorities for 2023. After the presentations, teammates played an ice-breaker game of human bingo, followed by a lunch that included jerk chicken chow mein, jollof rice arancini, spring rolls, samosas, and fried plantain. The two chapters look forward to collaborating throughout 2023! #WorkingAtTR #BlackHistoryMonth #AsianAffinityNetwork #RiseAbove

As Human Trafficking Awareness Month comes to an end, we want to thank our partners, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and our Thomson Reuters colleagues for helping raise awareness.
