Versiti’s president and chief executive officer Chris Miskel was joined by Executive Vice President and Chief scientific officer Michael Deininger, MD, PhD, Wisconsin State Representative Robin Vos, Mayor of Wauwatosa Dennis McBride, MRMC Spokesperson Robert Simi, Mortensen Rep Jeff Gruhn and approximately 100 community leaders to celebrate the Versiti Blood Research Institute expansion and the additional services and research that this will provide to the community and to the rest of the world.
A registered organ donor, Calvin donated his liver after passing away from a progressive illness. Now, his sister Samantha is on a mission to educate the African American community about the importance of organ and tissue donation. “Calvin and I were raised that life is about giving to the next generation and making them better,” she says. “Why not give the gift of life to somebody else?

Versiti had a blast this past weekend at the Farmington Founders Day Festival Parade. Thanks to all those that showed support! If you’re in the area, we hope to see you soon at our new Farmington Hills donor center, supporting local patients in need.
Versiti was proud to join the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, and Royal Capital at the June 6 ribbon cutting ceremony at the new ThriveOn King community health hub. Following the ceremony, Versiti hosted a blood typing event to help donors see if they are a match for someone needing rare blood.
