We’re excited to share that we have been recognized as a Kincentric Best Employer in Canada! Our Employee Promise means that we will continue to make our workplace one where you will be inspired, respected and valued as well as a place to grow for many years to come. This marks the sixth consecutive year we have been recognized as a Best Employer in Canada.
Eric Croteau has been teleworking for years. He knows his way around virtual discussions and remote collaboration! When his colleagues made the shift to working from home and needed to adjust to a new way of operating due to COVID-19, Eric instinctively volunteered to support them in the transition, sharing his tried and true tips and advice. But that's not all. Eric has completed several training courses to better help his peers navigate the new procedures and, as a result, provide faster assistance to our clients. Eric stepped out of his comfort zone and his new responsibilities revealed hidden talents. Eric would face the challenge all over again tomorrow. We are proud of his contributions, thank you Eric!
Our employees follow what drives them and we encourage them to explore their interests. Through job shadowing, ongoing training and new project opportunities, there’s always support to help propel you to where you want to be within the company. It’s part of our Employee Promise! Edith Ngai began her journey as a Sales agent part-time in 2016. Now, she’s a Business Analyst with our parent company Intact. Sky’s the limit at belairdirect!
During this week of festivities, we’re encouraging our employees to spread the holiday spirit in their community by giving back. Whether it’s donating to an organization in need, contributing to your local foodbank or helping a friend, good deeds come in many forms and help us live our value of generosity during this season and all year round.
Festivities are different this year, but our special holiday site makes celebrating simple. We’re encouraging employees to unwrap the holidays with us by participating in new activities on the site each week throughout December. This week, the focus was on spreading cheer by sending virtual holiday cards and updating your virtual meeting backgrounds from a holly jolly selection. So far, our employees have sent warm wishes 700 times!
When we launched our COVID-19 relief efforts at the start of the pandemic, Deanna Noronha knew that time was of the essence. It was a priority for her and her national colleagues to create training materials that would support employees through these changes while giving them tools to simplify the process for our customers. As our teams shifted to working from home, Deanna needed to work with others to implement this remotely by being agile, thinking fast on her feet and tapping into her valuable resources who were only a quick online message away. On top of that, she wasn’t afraid to ask questions and to think outside the box. By looking at each scenario from as many angles as possible, gathering everyone’s input and keeping consistent lines of communication open, Deanna was able to help develop the best solutions for our agents, while keeping the needs of our clients top of mind.
At the start of COVID-19, Adam MacLeod knew our mission was twofold: find quick solutions to meet the changing needs of customers and maintain our core operations. This meant keeping a balance between supportive measures and policy renewal, and between supporting clients and helping colleagues. In addition to his own team, Adam assisted other teams across the company, helping them leverage existing solutions and training them to build their own for the future. Good communication is always important, and during this time it helped everyone stay up to date with changes while setting clear goals. Adam shared his knowledge and best practices with others and by doing so he not only helped clients, but he flourished in his job.
