GitLab Support Engineer interview questions

The process started with a take home test, followed by a technical interview with one of my future colleagues, manager interview and then an offer. The technical interview involved SSHing into a linux box that had several configuration errors needing to be fixed. To be able to accept the offer I had to agree to having a background check done on me.

The interview process started off with a take home assessment which I had 6 days to complete. If you do well on the take home assessment, GitLab then schedules your first Zoom interview with a Technical Recruiter. After speaking with the recruiter and discussing your qualifications, you are then scheduled for a 90 minute technical interview via Zoom. During this interview, a GitLab Support Engineer walks you through a variety of break-fix/bug-fix/customer scenarios. If all continues to go well, you will be scheduled for a number of behavioral interviews where your experience is discussed, along with several situational questions. Overall, the interview process was great. The interviewers all did a great job of making me feel comfortable which allowed for the interviews to proceed in a more natural, conversational manner. After each interview, I honestly became more and more excited to begin working for GitLab.
