Pros

Great benefits. Very good insurance opportunities.

Cons

Obvious favoritism. You can never win at anything if you aren’t the favorite. Breathe too loud, and you find yourself in a ‘counseling session’. Management changes or makes rules all the time to satisfy favorite. Half the time they pull rules out of their arses and get uncomfortable when you call them out. Former colleague called the obvious favoritism out and got fired within the month. Sales goals pushed like normal bank without commissions. I asked about commissions in my interview and was told they were working on starting at the end of the year (2018). Never happened. Doing wayyy more work than job description and interview details led on. Long hours. Forced to stay overtime to complete tasks and then takes longer breaks so you don’t have to get paid for the overtime. No regard for personal life. Schedule always changed even when you request day off as told by management.

Pros

Good benefits - (they used to be great)

Cons

This used to be an organization focusing on member benefits and providing a work culture where employees felt valued and looked forward to working as a team. The member benefits haves been replaced with mandatory product services most don't want or need, and with a demanding, heavy handed sales and marketing mandate to the employees. Management has been pushing sales goals so firmly they are telling their representatives "If you can't keep up, perhaps you should go work somewhere else." The "seasoned" employees who are maxed out and holding large amounts of paid time off are being dismissed and replaced by new hires. I was fired after 19 years of service for "not making sales goals."

Pros

5 years ago, and prior: Pretty good company. Now: Who let in Bank of America?!

Cons

5 years ago: Pay could be better, benefits could be better, but not a bad place to work. Now: What happened?! SSFCU is supposed to be NON PROFIT, but you sure could have fooled me. Go into any branch and pay attention to the rep trying to squeeze every once of sales opportunities from each and every single member. The member was so valued at one point. But despite the hoopla people are making about members are a priority, members needs are no longer first. Sales are first. They are disguising sales as service. But every can see through it, and more importantly, they can feel it! Ladies and gentlemen: I present to you Bank of America Jr. Congratulations on your newborn baby, lets hope it doesn't become the monster the parent was.
