Congrats to Doller P., one of our May ACCLAIM winners, on being selected for the We Make Her Day award. Doller is a QA Analyst II on our Premium Vision team, and brings extensive knowledge and expertise to her role. She is known for her high quality work, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others. She also has a humble demeanor and a great sense of humor. To get to know Doller a little better, here’s an excerpt from her nomination: “She often will jump in to help find bugs and opportunities with new releases, in user testing, and also in partner testing. She is always so willing to help, and I want her to know how much she has helped me in my new role." We also want to congratulate our other May winners: Natalie P. (We Champion You), Curtis L. (We Live for the Impossible), and Ciara T. (We Win as a Team). Since being implemented in 2015, we have received thousands of nominations. We love seeing our associates champion an environment of recognition and appreciation. #lifeat1800contacts #acclaimwinners #recognition
Our Charlotte associates led a celebration today to honor Juneteenth. Coordinated by Damian L., Daija M., JaMonica E., and Kori W., the event included trivia about the day’s history, a bracelet and necklace-making activity to commemorate the holiday, and associate-designed fliers and educational materials distributed around the office. To help increase awareness and solidarity, our Charlotte associates also shared educational materials in our companywide newsletter. Food was provided by @_apinchofsoul – an awesome food truck that specializes in Southern cooking. Thank you to our associates for bringing this event to life in commemoration of Juneteenth! How did you celebrate Juneteenth today? #lifeat1800contacts #juneteenth2020
On Friday we held our 5th annual Lensy Awards recognition event. As we continue to practice physical distancing to keep our associates and their families safe, we gathered virtually and tuned in from our individual locations. While we missed gathering in-person, this year’s format enabled all three of our campuses to attend. Being connected (even virtually) was an incredible experience, and we loved seeing (via chat) our associates cheer for one another. We recognized newly set records in our operations groups, our Values in Action winners (where associates were nominated by their peers for their contributions), our fun Eye Spy awards (think Dundies from The Office), and our annual ACCLAIM winners for each of our company values. Many of our associates work from home as we practice physical distancing, so our leadership team surprised our winners by dropping off their awards (while in masks, of course). Being able to come together and celebrate our associates and their achievements will definitely be a top favorite moment of 2020. #lifeat1800contacts #lensyawards #recognition
Congrats to Adi and our other amazing seniors out there on your graduation. While we’re sure this wasn’t the sendoff you anticipated all those years ago, it will definitely be unforgettable. Here’s to new pathways and opportunities as amazing as you are. To surprise our graduating associates and their seniors (yes, our associates' high school seniors are part of our family, too), our admins put together some fun gifts for them, including some sweet Stance socks. We loved hearing about their reactions and receiving photos from their family members. Here’s to the Class of 2020! We can’t wait to see what you accomplish. #lifeat1800contacts #graduation #1800contacts #classof2020
We’re thrilled to have our Associate General Counsel, Maribeth LeHoux, listed as one of Utah Business’s 2020 Corporate Counsel honorees. Maribeth joined the 1-800 Contacts team just over four years ago, and has added incredible value to our team from day one. Her tenacity, kindheartedness, and commitment to our organization and its people are just a few reasons why Maribeth is such an incredible asset to our company. Check out the article below to learn more about Maribeth and the other honorees. #topcorporatecounselattorneys #1800contacts #utahbusiness #standardofexcellence #lifeat1800contacts
Earlier this month, 1-800 Contacts launched Boomerang, an online lens replacement service that allows consumers to re-lens their favorite frames without having to leave home. This easy and affordable service is the perfect way for our customers to give new life to their glasses or sunglasses. Frames can also be transformed by adding blue light, transition, or even sunglass lenses. We are excited to provide yet another way our customers can access affordable vision care. Plus, they’ll feel great knowing they are making a difference (re-lensing also means fewer frames being tossed before their time). We invite you to learn more about Boomerang by checking out the press release. #boomeranglenses #1800contacts #innovation #newbusiness #growth #lensreplacement
On Friday, our associates wore green to show their support for Mental Health Awareness. To borrow the words of our CEO, “The on-going stigma associated with mental health must be to overcome, and those struggling need to be able to find the care they need to heal. We can all be more aware of these struggles, and be in a better place to help.” Even before social distancing measures, mental health has been an important topic for us and remains a top priority to our leadership team. From mental health events to free counseling for our associates and their household, we are committed to providing resources to our people. Recently, we partnered with David Kozlowski, licensed therapist and podcaster, to offer weekly interactive webinars where our associates can come together on their lunch break to talk through any issues or challenges they are facing. More than ever, it is key we stay connected with our teams and find ways to provide support. Together, we can overcome any challenge or obstacle. #lifeat1800contacts #mentalhealthawareness
Each year, Inc. Magazine searches the nation for the best companies to work for, and we are thrilled to be on this list! We can’t help but feel humbled by this award, especially during this unique time when many job seekers and companies have been impacted by COVID-19. We have always taken the approach of putting our associates first, knowing that they in turn will take care of our customers. We are proud of the culture we have created, and work with some pretty incredible people. When the majority of our associates moved to a work at home status, we found ways to adapt and think outside of the box. Wellness classes evolved into online tutorials, social events into weekly photo contests, and town halls into increased messaging and online interactions with leadership. While we look forward to when social distancing regulations are lifted and we can gather together again, we are grateful for the technology that enables us to remain connected and part of one another’s lives. #lifeat1800contacts
We love our DC associates and appreciate all they do so we can continue to take care of our associates, customers, and communities. From keeping product on our shelves to getting thousands of orders out the door, they are the definition of our company value, We Live for the Impossible. As a way of saying thank you, a number of our associates in Draper volunteered to assemble goodie bags for them. From planning to shopping to assembling, they really stepped up and did an incredible job. In addition to the goodies and essential items, they snuck in some hugs, high fives, and cheers. 😊 Being able to partner with another local company (msoaps.com in Riverton, UT) made the experience even better. As we move forward in the current environment, what are some ways you are finding to support local business, strengthen employee morale, and make a difference? #lifeat1800contacts #wewinasateam
Happy National Administrative Professionals Day to these amazing women! We’re so incredibly lucky to have Meagan, Kelsey, Lacey, Jen, Koreen, Kristi, Heidi, and Kami as part of our team. Often their hard work takes place behind the scenes, but it does not go unnoticed. They are the miracle workers, problem solvers, and action takers at our organization. Our teams, department, and company run smoother because of their efforts and foresight. Not only are they superheroes in their roles, they are big-hearted and incredible human beings. If you get a chance, be sure to thank the members of your administrative team today for all that they do! #lifeat1800contacts #administrativeprofessionalsday
