Last week, during National Volunteer Week, our committed team members from the Phoenix Regional Office came together to volunteer at Phoenix City Hall. They worked on assembling Naloxone kits, a life-saving medication crucial in reversing opioid overdoses. Through this initiative, the team actively participated in addressing the opioid crisis and making a positive impact in their community. We’re thrilled to share that on February 27, Dominium and our banking, investment, and local government partners officially broke ground on two adjacent properties, 67 Flats and Juniper Square. Together, these developments will provide over 600 much-needed affordable housing units to the Glendale area. 67 Flats is tailored to support families, while Juniper Square will offer homes designed for seniors, both offering an array of amenities and benefits. Furthermore, these communities align with Arizona’s ongoing mission to conserve water and energy. We extend our appreciation to Mayor Jerry Weiers of the City of Glendale AZ and Joan Serviss from the Arizona Department of Housing for attending and speaking, along with Senior Vice President and Mountain West Development Lead Owen Metz and Government Relations Manager Sarah Shambrook. The final phase of Upper Post Flats, Dominium's affordable historic rehabilitation located at the landmark of Fort Snelling in St. Paul, Minnesota is officially complete. The community is now fully open to residents, with preference being given to military members, veterans, first responders and their families. Once an esteemed historic army barracks, Upper Post has undergone substantive restoration with the help of BKV Group, revitalizing the 26 structures dating back to the late 19th century and early 20th centuries. Today, Upper Post Flats proudly offers 192 affordable apartment homes that not only provides affordable housing but also pays homage to the history embedded in its foundations. We take great pride in the revitalization of these historic buildings, restoring them to aid an underserved population and providing housing that residents can truly be proud to call home. At Dominium, we’re proud to connect our residents, employees, and their dependents with opportunities for higher education through our scholarship program. This year, the scholarship program touches the lives of 284 recipients from 105 of our properties across 18 states. One community in particular, Copper Cove in Tolleson, Arizona, proudly hosts five of these exceptional scholarship recipients. Let’s meet these remarkable scholars: Ahtziri, a valued member of the Copper Cove community for nearly four years, is pursuing her passion for Forensic Science. Her ambition is to become a forensic anthropologist. Jaden, a first-time recipient, is set to be the first in her family to obtain a college degree. Johanna, also a first-time recipient, pursuing a degree in Health and Human Services, with aspirations in medical sales once her daughter is older. Sierra, a determined single mother, is on the cusp of completing her bachelor’s degree at Central State University. Carlos, a three-time recipient, is now a junior, dedicated to his studies in Fashion with a focus on Design. These stores exemplify the positive impact and opportunities our scholarship provides.
