We’re thrilled to share that a dedicated group of our Atlanta employees recently volunteered at Lost-n-Found Youth, a remarkable organization making a tremendous impact in the community. Specifically, our team had the privilege of lending a helping hand at The Thrift Store, a vital source of income for the Lost-N-Found organization and provides them with the finances to give back. Lost-N-Found Youth is committed to providing crucial support to LGBTQ+ youth and young adults in the Atlanta area. Their comprehensive range of services includes health services, housing solutions, food and hygiene supplies, shelter, career guidance and various other resources. We want to express our gratitude to our incredible team members who generously dedicated their time to learn more about this remarkable organization and contribute to their mission – way to go team! Furthermore, we would like to extend our appreciation to Lost-n-Found Youth for their commitment to providing vital support services for LGBTQ+ individuals facing homelessness. #LostNFoundYouth #Volunteering #CommunityImpact #LGBTQ+ #InclusionMatters
Our Dominium Allied Women’s Network (DAWN) recently had the pleasure of hearing from Chief Financial Officer & Senior Vice President Cassie Warner of Weis Builders speak at their event. At Dominium, we understand that times are not always easy – that’s exactly why our Spread Kindness program was created. Senior Community Manager Paula Irons based in Texas knew that one of her residents had fallen on difficult times. This resident, who we will call “L," has been a resident at Woodway Square in Austin, Texas for 10 years. Her unit was damaged due to the cold temperatures causing a sprinkler system pipe to burst. Unfortunately, that meant she had to leave her home due to the amount of water. L did have renters’ insurance, but it only covered up to one week in a hotel. The team at Woodway Square did their best to accommodate by letting her stay in a vacant apartment until her home was complete. “She made no complaints the entire time she was displaced. She stated that she loves her home and because of that, I felt that I had to do something kind.” So, Paula did just that by gifting her a $100 Kindness Card from our Spread Kindness Program.
Our residents’ kindness and camaraderie never ceases to amaze us. Recently, the residents at The Legends of Columbia Heights in Columbia Heights, Minnesota took that kindness to – you guess it – new heights. Around 10 residents organized and volunteered to pack bags for the homeless. They put flyers around their community asking for donations of supplies including travel-size shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, socks, mittens, feminine products and more. They filled over 38 bags with supplies and were donated to Mary's Place, a homeless shelter in Minneapolis, MN. Mary’s Place’s slogan is “Sharing & Caring” – and the residents at The Legends of Columbia Heights did just that.

As Dominium continues to grow its presence as a developer, manager, and owner of affordable housing across the country– it is constantly looking to grow in new markets. Over the past six years, Dominium has been expanding its business in the Western United States. And one state, in particular, has stood out amongst the rest: Colorado. While much of our practice was once focused on rehabilitation projects and preserving properties, our development team has found that Colorado, along with many of our markets, is prime for new construction projects.
