All of the hard work behind the scenes is a testament to Orlando Healthโs continued commitment to the Seminole County community, which we have proudly served for 40 years. Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital will offer comprehensive medical and surgical services, including cardiovascular care, orthopedics, general surgery, and a full range of womenโs health services, including labor and delivery. Designed to prevent the need for amputations in patients suffering from severe vascular conditions, the Limb Preservation Program combines the expertise of vascular surgeons, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals to address complex circulation issues and restore blood flow to limbs. Whether itโs through managing chronic conditions like diabetes or treating peripheral artery disease (PAD), the goal is to restore mobility, alleviate pain and keep patients active. Weโre proud to offer this innovative service to our community, ensuring that more people have access to life-saving treatments that can make all the difference. Happy Thanksgiving from Orlando Health ๐ฅ๐งก This week, Orlando Health team members and families participated in Heart of Florida United Way's Thanksgiving Project, packaging food that will be distributed to 5,000 ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) homes this Thanksgiving. Thank you to our amazing team members and volunteers who supported this effort and gave back to our community. ๐ค
Reinforcing its commitment to Central Alabama, Orlando Health has donated $25,000 to the Baptist Health Foundationโs New Generation Nurses Fund. Contributions to the fund are matched dollar-per-dollar by the Baptist Health Foundation and the Baptist Health System, bringing the total gift to $75,000. The funds will be used to support the Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing at Samford University. A scholarship will be awarded to a student each year in the nursing school who has financial need and intends to practice nursing in the greater Birmingham area post-graduation.
Thyme to grow healthy habits ๐ฑ๐งก The Orlando Health Community Benefit team visited Orange Center Elementary for Plant Day, giving students a hands-on experience in how fresh veggies and herbs grow. As a continuation of our initiative to inspire healthy habits in our community, students enjoyed yummy smoothies and fun activities, including scrimmage with Orlando City Soccer Club while in the garden.
