In celebration of International Women in Engineering Day, we want to honor SRP’s first female engineer, Louisa Simmons. She was hired in 1947 and was one of the only women at SRP with a degree in electrical engineering at the time. We’re grateful for trailblazing leaders like Louisa who had an empowering effect on women in STEM.
SRPVets, an Employee Resource Group, held its annual Memorial Day luncheon for our employees to honor the military members who have sacrificed their lives in service to our country. The event featured Margy Bons, Founder and CEO of Military Assistance Mission (MAM), who spoke to the hundreds of team members in attendance. “Memorial Day serves as a solemn reminder of the courage and selflessness of those who have defended our freedoms. A native of the Philippines, Denisse Gonzalez’s route to becoming an engineer at SRP was a journey that began in her home country with a father who inspired her. SRP is celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by sharing her story.
We recently celebrated "Bring Your Kids to Work Day" with a companywide career fair, giving kids a look into the amazing work their parents and loved ones do here at SRP.
