SRP Employee Resource Group N.A.T.I.V.E. celebrated National Navajo Code Talkers Day with a virtual talk by Michael Smith, a Marine Corps veteran who is also a descendant of Navajo Code Talker Samuel “Jesse” Smith Sr., 4th Marine Division. Smith has dedicated his life to serving the Navajo Code Talkers including Thomas H. Begay, one of only four living Code Talkers today, who also joined SRP’s virtual event to share his story.
