Chris Goodgion, SMS, Regional Safety Director at Rosendin and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, believes that the values he learned in the service are significant to his career today. "In the military, you are expected to always be loyal to your country and family. At Rosendin, the employees are my family! Without our employees in the field, we would not be as successful as we are today. It's important for us all, from the top down, to be loyal and faithful to each and every employee, which is one of our core values, 'We Care'. In combat, the phrase "follow me" means 'I am not asking you to do anything I wouldn't do'. It is meant to give confidence in your leadership, and veterans at Rosendin have the same confidence."
A group of military veterans and other workers from the SanJose-based electrical contracting company Rosendin will upgrade the USS Hornet Sea, Air and Space Museum this month to increase technology access aboard the ship. The group of 10 employees, including three veterans, are working pro-bono to install Wi-Fi, upgrade the ship’s computer network, improve its cybersecurity network, support digital media exhibits and add wireless access points. Rosendin is funding the $20,000 project through donations and volunteer work. “We first heard about their needs last year, and the team was so excited we started collecting donated equipment and set up a PlanGridproject, which is like a digital blueprint, to map out the challenges of wiring the ship,” said Matt Lamb, Rosendin’s chief information officer. The USS Hornet aircraft carrier was completed in 1943 and served in various capacities in World War II’s Pacific Theater, the Korean War and the Vietnam War before being decommissioned in 1970.
Rosendin is proud to be ranked in the Top 10 of the 2020 Engineering News-Record list of Top 600 Specialty Contractors! During the prolonged period of uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, design firms, construction managers and many general contractors were left scrambling for answers on how to manage and market through the crisis. But for subcontractors and specialty trade contractors, the problem was more acuteâtheir workers and field supervisors were on jobsites and had to be directly protected while trying to continue to work, which is partly what makes this recognition so great! Our customers lead some of the most complex construction projects in the nation and continually come to us for our expert knowledge, scalability, quality, and innovation. Most importantly, our customers turn to us for partnership â because they deserve a team as committed, connected and engaged as they are. Your success is our success.
