Pros

It’s okay nothing amazing. It’s a job

Cons

Poor management. Rarely gives raises in general, but also does not take into consideration cost of living raises. Also tells employees not to discuss wages (certain states like mine, have protection for employees that they are able to ask). Because we are protected in my state and can discuss wages outside of work/not on working time: we have found they are paying others who just started working there the same or higher wages than those who have been there many years and progressed in their roles/careers. They have benefits but pay a lot for medical and it’s out of state catastrophic benefits so really only helps you if you hit your high deductible or have surgery etc. No retirement 401k match

Pros

Remote work, management very off hands

Cons

You could be their best employee but they would never give you a raise unless the contracting company gives them more money.

Thank you for your feedback; we are happy to hear you enjoyed working remotely. We offer a variety of work environment options whenever possible: fully remote, hybrid between home and office, or fully in the office, so employees can choose the option that best suits their needs. In regard to our “hands off” approach, our management team builds relationships of trust and open communication with their teams, treating each member like the true professional they are. Deliverables are expected to be met and managers remain available and approachable to provide teams with the resources and support they need. In terms of increases, management assesses their budgets and compensation levels at least once a year to ensure employees are paid in line with the market, receiving competitive pay for their skillsets. Employees with concerns about compensation should reach out to their manager for discussion and resolution. We wish you the best of luck in the future.

A company past its prime

Pros

CEO is based in Belgium and is a good leader that genuinely cares about his people and is trying to bring European values like work life balance to the company. It can feel like a family here as the teams are small. They have been a pioneer in remote work and are offering hybrid and remote schedules even more now.

Cons

CTG is an old school company that is struggling to appear as innovative as other IT companies. They have a very unimaginative and reactive approach to product development and Human Resources, and can’t seem to figure out who they want to be. Their benefits and compensation plans are fairly basic compared to similar firms. Their overall HR mentality is very much stuck in their ribbon cutting era. Most staff do not receive regular raises and their starting PTO is your standard two weeks with a painfully slow accrual rate and a low capped amount even after more tenure. You have to “buy” extra vacation and they sell this to employees as a benefit. They do not offer 401K matching and by all indications will not in the foreseeable future. There’s a lot of nepotism since most of the leaders have been with the company for many years. When you work here you will see the same people promoted over and over while most are stuck in the same position for years. And there is absolutely no diversity in their overhead staff. They use “inclusion” as a buzzword but there are few if any BIPOC people in management and zero in senior leadership. Being a fixture in the Buffalo community I expected to see a statement on their social about the tragedy that happened not too far from their HQ, but radio silence. Similar silence on Pride month, and other cultural holidays with the exception of a few generic inclusion posts. The sad reality is that few POC and LGTBQ people are able to achieve meaningful progress in their careers here. I believe their European operations are a bit better at this. And there’s no employee engagement for teams outside of the HQ. Best Place to Work? They may have the badge but not the practices to support this distinction. Hopefully new HR leadership will bring them into 2022.

We appreciate the time you took to provide such thoughtful feedback. We believe that our CEO and leadership team's commitment to practices that strengthen our culture and contribute to achieving Great Place to Work certification year after year perpetuates the family-based culture you experienced. As a GPTW company, we are committed to continuously seeking and reviewing the input of our employees across the organization from many sources to ensure we receive the most accurate representation –GPTW surveys, internal surveys, Glassdoor reviews, exit and new hire surveys, and more. Employee insight is critical in CTG's innovation and growth as an employer and provider of leading digital IT services and solutions. It, therefore, is of the highest importance to our HR and leadership teams. Our HR teams use the insight gained from employee feedback to develop programs that support our people-focused culture and enact programs in our employees' best interest. We strategically choose program initiatives and invest in those that benefit our employees while balancing our financial responsibility to our shareholders. For example, we know that the cost of benefits for our employees is of the utmost importance, so our leadership team made financial decisions that allowed CTG to reduce employee benefit costs significantly three years in a row – 2020, 2021, and 2022. At CTG, our first core value is respect. That core value is applied in many ways, not the least in addressing the areas of diversity and equal opportunity. We are sorry that you found this an area to be lacking. We have found, as recently as our most recent GPTW survey, that most of our employees disagree. Statements related to fair and equitable treatment of employees regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender, and age received the highest ratings. Finally, you noted a few instances where you felt we remained silent. We were neither silent nor unengaged in either instance. In May of 2022, we chose to keep our communication and donation efforts focused where we felt that they were most needed and appropriate – internally, on our employees and in our headquarters community. We also kicked off our annual Pride month recognizations across our global social media channels on June 1. We encourage you to visit any of our social media channels this month. In summary, 'CTG's Core Values and culture are built upon respect, support, and open, two-way communication. We are sorry that you have had a different experience. Your CTG HR and leadership team would welcome the opportunity to talk through these or any other issues you have.

We appreciate the time you took to submit your feedback. You’re correct that all full time employees are eligible to participate in our health care benefits in accordance with the Affordable Care Act. Our benefits team is dedicated to ensuring affordable and comprehensive coverage; they continuously assess our benefits plans to keep them competitive with the market. In regards to raises, managers review salaries and total compensation on a regular basis to ensure alignment with the market and individual skillset. We encourage employees who have compensation concerns to reach out to their managers for resolution. Our managers have an open door policy to keep the lines of communication flowing and support their employees throughout the duration of an employee’s tenure at CTG. Thank you for being a part of our team!

Pros

You have the opportunity to work with both Lenovo and CTG, providing diverse perspectives. Some assistants are wonderful to work with and create a positive work environment. The role offers exposure to a well-known brand and potential for networking within Lenovo.

Cons

The dual management structure (Lenovo and CTG) can feel bureaucratic and inefficient. As a CTG contractor, it’s common to feel like an "outsider" since many perks, benefits, and employee groups are reserved for Lenovo employees. Transitioning from a CTG contractor to a full-time Lenovo employee is difficult, even after years of service, despite management’s reassurances. CTG contractors receive lower pay and fewer benefits compared to Lenovo employees. Some CTG PTO is automatically used for Lenovo holidays, giving you less flexibility in how you use your time off. Opportunities for pay raises are limited, and the company is unlikely to match competitive offers from other employers.

Pros

There really weren't any in my opinion.

Cons

Low pay, no chance for a raise/bonus. Even if you take on a lead role you make the same as anyone else.
